International Least Cost Routing - for Small and Medium Enterprises

Evolving from traditional Call-back services, International Least cost routing is at the forefront of alternative international communications in South Africa. The corporate environment has become aware of the fact that there are alternatives to using the traditional services, offering lower rates. When using DTI’s service they are able to bring down their international call costs to the USA, Europe and major destinations in Asia by an average of 30%.

For high volume users, DTI fits an auto-dialer to their telephone system that will assure optimum savings by automating the Dialthru procedure, placing all calls over the dialer. There is no installation or rental cost to the customer with calls in excess of R3000 per month, other than the standard call-out fee of their PABX technician.

When a call is made to a country where Telkom has cheaper rates than DTI, the call is automatically routed over Telkom’s service. On calls to countries where DTI has a cheaper rate, the dialer places the call over our service.

When using our service with an auto-dialer, the international dialing procedure remains the same; you will dial as always: 09 + country code + area code + destination number.

Cellular Least Cost Routing - for Small and Medium Enterprises

If you have a Telkom cellular bill for more than R3000 a month, you can save up to 40% on calls to GSM cellular phones in South Africa by installing Cellular LCR units. The concept is very simple; calls from landlines to cell-phones are more expensive than calls from cell-phone to cell-phone. By fitting Cellular LCR Units to your PABX, calls from your PABX are effectively routed over the cellular network, hence affording you savings on these calls.

The DTI Sales Consultant will analyze your Telkom Bill, and based on the calling patterns to various cell-phone services, will make recommendations of how many units and what combination of MTN or Vodacom units will be required. The customer enters into a standard Cellular Contract, as indicated out below:

These packages offer lower rates (and therefore increased savings) for calls to the same network, but no savings for calls to other networks. Therefore in order to benefit from these packages and maximize savings, clients will need to use a combination of lines from both networks, in the ratio of their calls to each network.
