Introduces Flat Rate, International Calling
Mar 21, 2003
American Military and Expatriates in Europe save up to 55% with Flat Rate
Calling.
Dial Thru International Corporation (TCBB: DTIX), a leading provider of
global telecommunications, announced today the launched Flat Rate Europe,
a new calling plan for U.S. military and expatriate Americans.
"One of the difficulties of our service members, their families, and the
expatriates in Europe is high cost, long-distance calling," explained John
Jenkins, Chief Executive Officer, Dial Thru International. "Flat Rate
Europe provides these individuals some relief when calling home, with
rates comparable to those available in the United States."
The concept of Flat Rate Europe is very simple: an individual pays a
fixed, monthly fee, which allows them to call up to 120 minutes (2 hours)
to the United States each month. In Italy, for example, one pays $9.98 for
DTI's Flat Rate plan, saving them more than 55 percent over traditional
direct dial rates.
"When we developed Flat Rate Europe," said Larry Vierra, Vice President,
Sales and Marketing, "we compared the calling plans being offered in the
USA, versus those in countries like Spain, Greece and Turkey. What we
found was that so-called 'package plans' that save customers money, were
non-existent for the most part. Americans abroad were therefore paying
high, per minute rates to call home."
The company's Flat Rate plan is currently available in six European
countries. DTI has also developed a special Flat Rate Mobile Plan for
military families using cellular telephones in Germany. Calls to the USA
from mobile phones, here, costing only 11.6 US cents per minute under the
Flat Rate plan, rather than traditional direct dial rates, which range
35-60 percent more.
